Purpose

The goal of the Club is to provide eligible athletes an opportunity to develop their athletic skills,
play in a competitive environment, and develop a better understanding of teamwork and community service.
The Club will strive to instill values of academics, good sportsmanship, integrity, respect, and leadership
while providing an environment for athletes to reach and exceed their goals in the sport of baseball or softball.

Objectives

1. To have all athletes improve in every facet of the game (hitting, fielding, throwing, base running, etc.)
2. To have the athletes learn and appreciate the concept of “team” sports and roles
3. To expose the athletes to the “College Showcase” environment (age appropriate)
4. To have fun every step of the way

Expectations – Coaching Staff

1. We will keep players and parents informed of all practices, games, plans, etc.
2. We will develop and use detailed practice plans (drills, situations, conditioning, etc.)
3. We will emphasize attitude, effort, learning and improvement
4. We will strive to keep the overall costs to a minimum
5. We expect coaches to behave respectfully and appropriately

Expectations – Players

1. We expect the players to be “academically eligible” by TN High School standards
   (this does not mean removal from the team)
2. We expect the players to be 100% focused on the field
3. We expect the players to give 100% effort while on the field
4. Playing time during “elimination play” games will be based on attitude, effort and performance
   since the last tournament
5. We expect players to behave respectfully and appropriately
6. We expect players to participate in fundraising

Expectations – Parents

1. We expect parents to make arrangements for their athlete to be on time to practices, games, etc.
2. We expect parents to volunteer with things like travel arrangements, communications, fund raising, etc.
3. We expect parents to pay team fees, etc. on time
4. We expect parents to behave respectfully and appropriately
