Code of Conduct

This player, parent and coach code of conduct is not intended to be an all-inclusive list of rules
concerning behavior. All players, parents and coaches registered to play on a Legacy Baseball and
Softball Club, Inc., herein known as the “Club”, traveling team are expected to conduct themselves in a
manner that is above and beyond respectful of others and reflects positively on the Club and the
community.
Sportsmanship
All players and parents must learn and display a sense of fair play. Be humble in victory, gracious in
defeat. Players and parents must represent your team and the Club by showing good sportsmanship at
all times, win or lose.
Respect, Integrity and Pursuit of Excellence: All players and parents must treat all others
as you expect to be treated. Strive to perform each aspect of the game to the highest level of your
ability and with the highest level of integrity and fair play. Support your team and teammates at all
times. Respect all opponents’ players, parents and coaches at all times. Strive to excellence.
Consumption of alcohol and/or drugs is strictly prohibited by coaches, parents and players at any
practice or tournaments.
Player Code of Conduct
- Respect all Coaches, Teammates, Parents, Opponents, Spectators, and Umpires.
- Never argue with an umpire’s call or decision.
- Sprint on and off the field at all times. (NO WALKING BETWEEN THE BASELINES)
- No swearing, harassment, or inappropriate behavior or language will be tolerated.
- Always have a positive attitude, win or lose.
- Teamwork is not a preference, it is a requirement; encourage one another.
- Always support your team and teammates. Be the first to praise others and the last to brag or draw attention to yourself.
- Be the first to lead by example and the last to violate team standards or rules.
- Attend every practice and every game, and notify your coach if you cannot be there.
- Be responsible to help clean up the field and dugout after all practices and games.
- Players will be respectful and wear organizational gear with respect.
- Shirts are to be tucked in at all times and caps are to be worn forward at all times. Hats are not to be worn backwards or sideways.
- No defaming of coaches, teammates, or players via any electronic or social media (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter), text messages, etc.
- No player group chats via apps or any other source without a coach being included.
- Work at home to improve your skills. Always pay attention to your coach’s instructions.
- Always give your best effort in practices and games. When you fail, do your best again.
- HAVE FUN.
Parent / Guardian Code of Conduct
- Respect your son’s or daughter’s coaches, teammates, parents, opponents, spectators, and umpires.
- Be respectful of your coach’s decisions and the time and effort they put in.
- Ask how you can help your coaches at practices.
- Encourage your child to play by the rules and lead by example.

Do not embarrass your team by yelling at players, coaches, umpires, or spectators. Parents unable
to refrain from such behavior may be asked to leave.
- Ensure your player arrives at practices and games on time and communicate conflicts promptly.
- Spend time at home with your child on skill development.
- Use positive encouragement with players, teammates, and coaches.
- No defaming of coaches, players, or parents via electronic or social media or text messages.

Allow for a 24-hour “cool down, be objective” period before discussing serious concerns with a
coach in a constructive manner.
Coaches Code of Conduct
- Maintain disciplinary control of players at all times under their jurisdiction.
- Address umpires respectfully and accept all judgment calls as final.

Abide by all Legacy Baseball and Softball Club rules and regulations, as well as those of travel leagues
and organizations in which they participate.
- Set a positive example of sportsmanlike conduct for players to follow.
Anti-Harassment Policy
No player or parent shall engage in violent or verbal conduct toward another individual because of
race, religion, sex, or ethnic origin when such conduct:
- Creates an intimidating, hostile, or offensive team environment.
- Substantially or reasonably interferes with a player’s team participation.
- Adversely affects a player’s team opportunities.
Any player or parent found to have engaged in such prohibited conduct shall be subject to disciplinary
action up to and including immediate dismissal and/or a formal apology.
Discipline Policy
Each player, parent and coach is advised that all disciplinary actions shall be reviewed by the
Legacy Baseball and Softball Club Board of Directors.

All participants are expected to understand and comply with this Code of Conduct and the
Legacy Baseball and Softball Club, Inc. Bylaws.
